Giemsa banding or G-banding

Banding techniques:


a) Giemsa banding or G-banding, the most commonly
b) Quinacrine banding or Q-banding used to demonstrate
bands along chromosomes.
c) Constitutive banding or C-banding is used to demonstrate
constitutive heterochromatin.
d) Reverse staining Giemsa banding (or R-banding) gives pattern
opposite to those obtained by G-banding
